- Preventative maintenance is required and must adhere to a schedule based on mileage, engine hours, or a calendar basis, whichever comes first.
- Repairs must be addressed promptly to prevent the escalation of damage and to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle. Only qualified personnel may perform repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Drivers are responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting any issues immediately to the fleet maintenance department.
- The maintenance team is tasked with conducting routine checks and servicing vehicles in line with the maintenance schedule.
- Management is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy, ensuring compliance, and maintaining records of all maintenance activities.
Compliance:
- All drivers and maintenance personnel are required to comply with this policy. Non-compliance can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Vehicles found to be in a condition that could compromise safety or environmental standards will be removed from service until they are repaired and pass a subsequent inspection.
