The New Day Company, LLC strictly adheres to the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding Hours of Service (HOS) to ensure the safety and well-being of our drivers and the public. Compliance with HOS regulations is not only a legal requirement but also a critical component of our commitment to preventing fatigue-related incidents.
Policy Details:
- All drivers are required to follow HOS regulations, which dictate the maximum number of daily and weekly driving hours, as well as the minimum rest periods between shifts.
- Drivers must maintain accurate logs of their driving times using approved Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) or logbooks as required by the DOT.
- Manipulation, falsification, or failure to keep accurate records of driving hours is a serious violation and will result in disciplinary action.
Compliance Enforcement:
- The New Day Company, LLC conducts regular audits of driver logs to ensure compliance with HOS regulations.
- Drivers found to be in violation of HOS regulations may face consequences including but not limited to retraining, suspension, or termination.
- We provide ongoing education and training to ensure that all drivers understand and can effectively comply with HOS regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Drivers are responsible for managing their schedules to remain within HOS limits.
- Management and dispatch personnel must not encourage or coerce drivers to violate HOS regulations under any circumstances.
